Stephen DesJardins: Walking Three Paths: Working at the Intersection of Economics, Public Policy, and Higher Education
May 24, 2022 at 10:15 - 12, Ruusupuisto Aula
Professor DesJardins will discuss his walk through the intellectual terrain in three related but different fields: economics, public policy, and higher education. He will discuss how concepts and methods from each have been used to frame research on higher education issues, in particular those related to the effects of tuition (price) and financial aid (subsidies) on access to and success in postsecondary education. Observations will also be provided about the likely direction of such research, especially for European context.
