Uses and Misuses of Data
"Evidence-based" or "data-driven" decision making are popular buzz words in higher education and reflect a growing trend to collect, develop, and use data and analytics in assessments, policy-making, and planning. This chapter explores the way data is used and misused by institutional officials (and some external stakeholders) and concludes by offering suggestions to improve the use of data and hopefully minimize its misuse.
