Cygnaeus Scholarly Fellowship 2.0

Finnish Institute for Educational Research - Call for proposals - Grants for international cooperation, especially for writing joint articles (2019)

The Finnish Institute for Educational Research FIER calls for proposals related to international cooperation and for writing scientific articles. The grant can also be applied for the publishing activities of Finnish writers to produce an international publication or publications.
The grant can be used for the following purposes:

  • A FIER staff member can invite international cooperation partners to FIER for a time period between two and four weeks, aiming to produce a joint publication.
  • A FIER staff member can visit the department of an international cooperation partner, aiming to produce a joint publication.
  • A FIER research team can spend a week for writing at the Konnevesi research station.
  • Or for any other idea that promotes international publishing activities.

The applications should be addressed to FIER and sent via email to Mira Strömmer: mira.strommer@jyu.fi

The application should include the following:

  • A brief description of the cooperation or writing project, the theme of the planned publications, writers, the forum of publishing (e.g. the name of a journal or edited book)
  • The schedule
  • The budget: travel and accommodation costs

FIER researchers can apply for the funding during the autumn 2018. Deadline for the first application round is 16.11. Second application round will take place in spring 2019. The entire allocated sum must be used during 2019.

Decisions regarding the grants are made by the management team of the institute. A short report about the use of the funding and the products needs to be submitted to the Director. More specific instructions for this will be given later.

At their own universities, international cooperation partners can refer to these ”Cygnaeus Scholarly Fellowship 2.0” grants in their justifications for inviting visitors from FIER to their own departments or for visiting the University of Jyväskylä themselves.
