Submit a proposal

The submission of the proposals has been closed, thank you!

We will inform about the acceptance by June 5th.

The conference will accept presentations in a panel format only. The panels’ focus, format and content are to be decided by the panel coordinator (which will be one of the panellists) and the other panellists. Papers can be presented in panels, but paper presentations are encouraged to be given less time than time spent on discussing the papers or the theme (the priority ought to be to establish dialogues between the panellists and the audience). Priority in the acceptance of panels will be given to those that fulfil the following criteria:

  • Have not more than three panellists (including discussants). This restriction on the number of panellists is to guarantee that there is time for the members of the panel to interact with the audience. Time organization of the panel needs to be provided, including how the panellists are expected to engage with the audience (panels will have a maximum duration of one hour).
  • That the panel discusses a common theme, bringing together perspectives from multiple countries or institutions.
  • Panels that focus their time on discussion rather than on paper presentations.

Panels will have a maximum duration of 60 minutes. Due to time constrains, only 15–20 panels can be accepted. The organizers prefer panels that address the theme of the conference but are open to receiving submissions also in other topics and will endeavour to accommodate them if there are available slots.

Please submit your panel proposals using the format in the attachment (see below) by e-mail (cher2022@jyu.fi) by the 15th of May 2022. Panel proposals should not exceed 1000 words (including the bios of panellists). The panel proposals received will be evaluated by the members of the organizing committee and by the members of the Board of Governors of CHER. Applicants will receive a notification of the application results by the 5th of June 2022.
