Guidelines for papers, panels and posters

Papers

Each individual paper has 25 minutes of presentation time (15 minutes for presenting, 10 minutes for discussion). Each session will include 4 presentations. 

  • All the conference rooms are equipped with a computer (with Windows and regular Microsoft Office programs), internet connection, and a projector. If possible, please use the computer provided in the rooms. Bring the presentation with you on a memory stick or such. If you’re unsure if your presentation works, please contact the organisers BEFORE your session so that we can make sure you’re able to present. Also in this way the session schedules will hold.

The conference participants are asked to send the full-length papers based on their accepted abstracts by 18 August. The length of the paper should be max. 20 pages and it should follow the basic structure of the research paper; introduction, theory, data, results and conclusions. Please provide also the biographies of all authors. 

Please submit the full paper through the same conference management system as the abstracts: https://congress.cc.jyu.fi/cher2017/cgi-bin/contact.cgi Please save your document as a pdf file before submitting.

The full papers will be uploaded to the conference website and they are available only for the participants during the conference. 

Panels

A group of  3-4 paper presentations united by one single panel topic. The papers will consist of original research, critical scholarly review or theorisation and they must establish relevance and significance of the proposed topic. Topics can take many forms, e.g. a diverse responses to a central problem or question, a structured dialogue or debate, reports from a comparative research project, or a discussion of a new scholarly book. One panel is 90 minutes.

The conference participants are asked to send the full-length papers based on their accepted abstracts two weeks before the conference, by 14 August. The length of the paper should be max. 20 pages and it should follow the basic structure of the research paper; introduction, theory, data, results and conclusions. Please provide also the biographies of all authors'. 

The full papers are uploaded to the conference website and they are available only for the participants during the conference. 

Poster 

A visual display normally used for preliminary studies, works in progress, or early-stage research projects for which consolidated results are not yet available.

Posters are on display in the Ruuspuisto's lobby in the second floor from Monday afternoon to Wednesday. The authors are asked to present orally their poster in Monday at 18.00-19.00.
