Finnish Institute for Educational Research has started research collaboration on action research methodology and research on mentoring with School of Education of Charles Sturt University in Australia. Professor Stephen Kemmis from CSU had a keynote lecture in the conference "Practice Architectures of Teacher Education" held in Jyväskylä in September 2011. Hannu Heikkinen has visited CSU in Wagga Wagga, Australia in 2010 and 2012 and worked in joint research projects. A number of articles, book chapters and conference papers have been produced in collaboration with scholars in CSU.

NQT-COME
The aim of the network is to promote professional learning of newly qualified teachers in the induction phase through developing systems of support. The NQT-COME project has organized a series of seminars, based on the comparative research done by the research and development network Newly Qualified Teachers in Northern Europe (NQTNE). The series of seven seminars and workshops was circulated in the five participant counties: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The aim is to develop support systems for NQTs through international sharing of best practices and comparative research work. NQT-COME was funded by Nordplus in 2009 – 2012. After this period the network continues by the support of partner universities.

INNOTE
Induction for Novice Teachers is a project which aims to supporting newly qualified teachers in the induction phase. The Finnish Network for Teacher Induction 'Osaava Verme' organised a conference in Tallinn in May 2012 in collaboration with INNOTE and NQT-COME.
