University Alliance Finland - Reseach Cluster of Excellence 'Work, Learning and Welfare'

The Research Cluster brings together high-level and multidisciplinary research projects under a unified theme – Work, Learning and Welfare. The Cluster was established in June 2008 on the basis of strengths and common interests in research of three Finnish universities:
  • University of Jyväskylä
  • University of Tampere
  • Tampere University of Technology.
The Cluster promotes co-operation between researchers and research groups focusing on the interfaces of work, learning and welfare, both in Finland and internationally. In sharing research-based knowledge and establishing new research projects, the Research Cluster collaborates with communities of practise, i.e. work places, learning institutions, social service and welfare providers, individual and collective agents involved in work, learning and welfare. It aims at producing social and educational innovations based on research on the relations between working life, education and welfare.

Co-ordinators:

Professor Anneli Eteläpelto
Department of Educational Sciences, University of Jyväskylä
