Flights and airport transportation

You can fly to Jyväskylä via Helsinki. The distance between Helsinki and Jyväskylä is approximately 270 km, and a flight takes about 40 minutes. In April, Finnair or Finncom Airlines operate between Helsinki and Jyväskylä 8 times a day on working days, and 3 times a day during weekends.

Jyväskylä Airport is located about 20 kilometres from the city centre. Transportation from the airport to the city is organised by the Airport taxi service. Airport taxis are community taxis which take 2 to 10 passengers at the same time. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs €20 per person. It is also possible to take your own taxi, which costs about €40. Airport taxis need to be ordered in advance and this is recommended for private taxis as well. Trains

There is also a frequent railway connection between Helsinki and Jyväskylä. The Finnair City Bus from the airport to Helsinki railway station leaves in front of the international terminal (platform 10) in every 20 minutes. The bus costs €5.90, and the journey takes about 35 minutes.

There are several trains from Helsinki to Jyväskylä every day. Some of them are direct connections and some of them require change in Tampere. A train journey takes 3 to 3.5 hours. A single ticket costs €45-50.

Coaches

You can also take a coach from Helsinki Airport to Jyväskylä. The bus journey takes about 4 hours. A single ticket costs about €44.
