Keynote speakers

The keynote speakers of the symposium are all internationally well-known scholars in the field of education representing different approaches to research on learning:

Michael Baker  is Professor at CNRS, Telecom ParisTech, tenured in Cognitive Science and Language Sciences. The general aim of the research that Michael is leading is to understand how cognitions emerge from dialogue. His own research focuses on analysing the processes of co-elaboration of knowledge in argumentative and computer-mediated interactions between learners.

Sanna Järvelä  is Professor in the field of learning and educational technology and a head of the Educational Technology Research Unit (http://www.edtech.oulu.fi/) in the Department of Educational Sciences, University of Oulu. Her main research interest deal with learning processes in technology-based and virtual learning environments, social and motivational processes in learning, self-regulated and computer supported collaborative learning.

Karen Littleton  is a professor of Psychology in Education in the Centre for Research in Education and Educational Technology, The Open University, UK. She obtained a PhD in psychology from the University of York (UK). Her recent research focuses on learning and interaction, particularly on computer-supported collaboration in technology-rich classrooms.
